Vandaag kunt u naar eigen inzicht besteden en Manaus verkennen. 

Vandaag staat een fantastische dagexcursie op het programma. U wordt om 08:30 opgehaald bij het hotel voor de excursie. Op het programma staat het bezoek aan een indianendorp, interactie met de rivierdolfijnen, een heerlijk lunch op het Janauari meer en u gaat de enorme waterlelies van de Amazone ontdekken. 

De verschillende plekken worden bezocht vanuit Manaus in een Voadeira speedboot en onderweg komt u langs het prachtige natuurfenomeen 'Meeting of the Waters'. 

Rond 17u eindigt de excursie en wordt u afgezet bij het hotel. 

Vandaag staat er een boeiende natuur dagexcursie op het programma door de Amazone Jungle naar de Presidente Figueiredo watervallen. Een dag vol avontuur wacht op u, waarbij u betoverende watervallen in de Amazone Jungle bezoekt en zwemt in natuurlijke zwembaden. U wordt in de ochtend opgehaald bij het hotel en aan het einde van de middag er weer afgezet. 

Day 1: Manaus Embarkation
In the morning you will join forces at the meeting point at the Tropical Hotel. You will be welcomed at Manaus airport by your English speaking guides, who will ensure that you are escorted to the hotel safely and appropriately. 

Boarding the M/S La Jangada will take place after you arrive at the meeting point. Amazonian fruit cocktails will be provided on board, in addition to crew presentations for instructions whilst aboard the vessel. Safety guidelines will be explained and any other information you may be querying can be answered. You will be given time to unpack your luggage in your private cabins afterwards.

Following the introductory morning, lunch will be served as we navigate towards Vila Paraiso, where the Rubber Museum is located. After visiting the grand Rubber Museum, we voyage on the Rio Negro, towards Tupé. Interestingly. acidic waters remove mosquitoes and despite a less rich biodiversity, it is an exploration sail to observe wildlife in little explored and sparsely populated areas where hunting is most often banned.

At sunset, you will take a motorboat trip to observe the stunning fauna and flora of the surrounding areas. Docking in the cove of the village of Sao Joao do Tupé you have the opportunity to participate in a ritual of the Indians Dessano, Tucano e Tuiúca. This is the first contact you will have with the inhabitants of the banks.

Concluding a lavish and extensively intense first day, you will enjoy dinner served on board whilst night navigation commences on the Rio Negro. Our journey’s end will find us at the village of Novo Airão, gateway to the Anavilhanas Archipelago.

Day 2:  Novo Airão / Anavilhanas Islands 
We begin the day with hearty breakfast for you to enjoy, before your departure by canoe for an exploration of the islands and surrounding lakes. It's flight time for nature’s feathered majesties; parrots, ibises, herons, egrets, gracious little waterhens and the ever marvellous eagles. You may also see the ballet gray dolphins (Tucuxi) and pink dolphins (2 hrs). 

Enjoy your time visiting the village of Novo Airão and the Almerinda Malaquias Foundation, a place of pure craftsmanship. Take this opportunity to revel in the culture and all of the beauties that are created by the people within it. We follow our intrigue back to the M / S La Jangada at the end of the morning. Swimming is optional here for anyone who would like to experience the soft and delicate waters of Rio Negro.

Flavourful lunch is provided on board as we sail to the caves of Madada. Specifically the village of Velho Airao, located at the mouth of the river Jau, at the entrance to the Jau National Park. For now it is time to indulge in relaxation; discover a luxorious lounge bar to discuss with your guides about the indigenous tribes of Rio Negro.

At the end of the afternoon you will embark on a motorboat expedition to observe the fauna and beauty of the landscapes at the golden hour. The golden hour is the period of time shortly before or after sunset, most famous for lending it’s stunning aesthetics to the world. Enjoy this warm atmosphere as the sun lowers in the sky; For any passionate photographers this is an unmissable part of our journey! 

After we return from the heavenly scenery we dine either on board or host a barbecue on a sandbar - weather permitting of course. The is a chance to have a different dining experience with us which will really highlight the diversity of the cuisine you experience. Following this evening of fulfilment, we spend the night sailing to the mouth of the Jau River, in the heart of Jau National Park.

Day 3: Madada Caves / Jaú National Park
Early morning, after a hearty breakfast, we begin a trek in the primary forest. This hike is estimated to take roughly 1 hour, rewarding your efforts finding the caves of Madada. This mysterious place served as a refuge for the indigenous Tucano tribes. One of the most interesting finds are the relief drawings you will see carved on the rocks, dating back more than 3000 years. Your guides will help you discover all the plant diversity of this territory, educating you on the diverse application of tree specimens and lianas for the native pharmacopoeia.

You will return to the boar in the late morning. At this time it is optional again for anyone who would wish to swim in the waters of Rio Negro. Lunch is provided at this time as we smoothly navigation to the village of Velho Airao, at the mouth of the river Jau.

At the end of the afternoon, you will make your way to a motorboat where your next trip will begin. We commence for an evening of enthralling wildlife watching at sunset. During this beautiful pursuit you will be combined in groups with your tour and native guides. Here you can take the time to ask any questions you may have about the fascinating areas surrounding you. 

Succeeding your evening adventure, you will return to the opulent Jangada for a delightful dinner service on board. Night time is a time to truly relax, as we anchor at the gorgeous mouth of the river Jau.

Day 4: Jau National Park
Make sure you get a good nights rest (which shouldn’t be a problem in our lush bedroom suites), because at sunrise the M/S Jangada will navigate you to the base of the ICMBio (the Institute for Biodiversity Conservation), named after the environmental activist Chico Mendes. Here we will take care of obtaining permits for you to enter the sanctuary. Advancing consistently in its marine nature and conservation resources sustainable use strategies, it is a protected and beloved area of Brazil.  

Afterwards, you will enjoy an early morning breakfast on board and our team will simultaneously undertake navigations on the glistening river Jau. Arriving at a pre-organised location, you will get going on one of the local motorboats. In the company of experienced native guides you will penetrate the "igarapés", small streams and submerged areas where you will get the time to immerse yourself and soak up all the viridescent surroundings. Many aquatic mammals are present in this protected area, like many species of birds and monkeys. In the high water season, from January to May, motorboat expeditions are provided to also admire the waterfalls of the Gato River.

In the late morning, you will make your return to the incredible M/S La Jangada and sail to the town of Moura, located a little further upstream after the mouth of the Unini River. Remarkable lunch will be issued on board, as you take pleasure in loosening up and observing the natural landscapes.

In the middle of the afternoon, exit yet again by motorboat for a visit of the city of Moura. Exploring the city will be the highlight of the evening before you are transported back to your vacation home, Jangada for another extraordinary dinner on board. 

After dinner, save yourself some energy as you plunge out once more in various canoes accompanied by native guides. Here, you will get to observe the localised nightlife and even catch a glimpse of the diamond-bright eyes of the caimans in the moonlight. In the serene silence of the Amazon, nightfall is emotionally moving for many travellers. You will feel at peace like never before. Following this glimpse of tranquility you continue a night of calmness as we anchor in our own nirvana along the river, or alternatively near a sandbank in the dry season (June to December).

Day 5: Jauaperi River 
Early morning we begin sailing up the river Jauaperi, a tributary of Rio Negro with immaculately clear waters, to the reserve of Xixuau. These first hours at dawn are advantageous for clear observation of the banks from the bridges of M/S La Jangada. Breakfast is supplied on board and our first outing begins by motorboat for an appreciation of the magnificent banks.

In due course you will return on board as we continue the navigation until we reach the mouth of the igarapés. Landing on route to visit the village and discover the Alternative Community School, where you will learn about teaching, study the environment as well as native traditions and culture.

Indulge in lunch on board and relax while the boat continues to go up the Jauaperi River towards the Xixuaú Reserve. Eventually, in the middle of the afternoon we take a stop in a small village,  Caboclo for a meeting with the inhabitants. Scan the environments as you learn about daily life and examine the crafts created here. All precious creations found here are of very beautiful quality, making wonderful gifts or keepsakes whilst supporting the local villagers.

At the end of the day we bring our trip to a stop at the port of the village of Xixuau, on the edge of the reserve. Landing peacefully we arrive for you to meet the village leaders and prepare for the next day. This night we anchor in the heart of the Amazonian Rain Forest, where you can truly feel immersed in the ecosystem, becoming part of the landscape.

Day 6: Xixuau Reserve
At sunrise, a short getaway with caymans, settling peacefully on the bank near the village before returning to the boat for breakfast. Get ready for an intimate departure by pirogue (2 people + native guide) for an exploration in the lakes and journey under the canopy of the submerged forest. Search your surroundings for aquatic mammals and birds whilst listening to the natural acoustics in the canopy. You will undoubtedly catch a glimpse of otters, dolphins, monkeys and many various bird species in this alluring area of the forest. We conclude this divine morning by returning later on for lunch aboard the fabulous M/S La Jangada.

Make sure you take advantage of the nutritious food available as you build your excitement and energy for the afternoon! Prepare yourself for your trek in the primary forest to see the Samaumas, the largest trees in the Amazon rainforest. You can let yourself relax as we switch your mode of transport to canoes. Aboard you can partake in fishing, a hands-on activity for those of you who find enjoyment in techniques explored in the wild. 

Dinner on board is continued by another exquisite evening on the lake. We extend the possibility to organise a camp in the forest when the water levels are high. This is purely for volunteers in a very privileged place for the animal observation. For this excursion we arrive on site by canoe, install camping preparations to spend the night in hammocks. Take a moment by our campfire and feast on the stories of myths and legends of the Amazon. At dawn, we guarantee you will hear the concert of the screaming monkeys as they swing through the trees.

Day 7: Xixuau Reserve and Rio Negro
Breakfast served on board. Disembarkation and departure by dugout or on foot, depending on the season, to sneak once again between giant tree trunks and high lianas for furtive encounters with the animals of the reserve. You will experience encounters with the native guides and the village officials for a commemoration of our visit. Here you can admire the presentation of local crafts and event take home a souvenir photo!

In the late morning we start navigation back to Novo Airao along the opposite bank of Rio Negro. Trust our professional and attentive crew to provide another unmissable lunch on board. Take this time to observe the banks from the third bridge, relax on a deck chair, sip on beverages in the lounge bar… Let the time pass slowly to the rhythm of the boat’s pace. Landscapes one after the other are an enchantment for the eyes; At sunset when the first stars appear, all the mystery of the Amazon rainforest envelops you, glistening into the night. Dine with us once more as dinner is served.

Day 8: Rio Ariau / Manaus
From sunrise, it's all the magic of the Amazon rainforest that is revealed to you. The reflections of the trees and the sky in the water, the flight of birds we never get tired of, the daily life and its multitude of smells, sounds and landscapes. Around 8 am, we land for a dip with the pink dolphins. This experience is truly incomparable and will be completely unforgettable. Discovery of the Ariau River follows your extended morning, a rich eco system full of charming surprises. Lose yourself in your final moments aboard the luxurious Jangada.

1 pm marks the time for disembarkation of all passengers from our 8 day cruise. We will be sorry to see you say goodbye, but leave you with confidence that you have had the best vacation experience possible! The drop off point is located in front of the hotel Tropical, where reception assistance will be aided by English-speaking guides for all of your final needs. All of your transfers to hotels and the airport will be provided to ensure the final details of your trip are all concluded beautifully.

Day 9: Mouth of Rio Purus / Village Do Pao
At sunrise we journey forward once more, feeding your appetite for adventure. Travelling by motor boat through the nearby lakes and “ Furos" (small canals joining the lakes and the main river) a little upstream of the Rio Purus. It's flight time for nature’s feathered majesties; parrots, ibises, herons, egrets, gracious little waterhens and the ever marvellous eagles (2 hrs).

Before leaving the ship you will be assisted by expert sailors in the art of fishing. Throwing some lines in the promise of catching naturally magnificent catfish! The catches you make can later be hand picked for consumption aboard the ship. Prepared and served astonishingly fresh to elevate your authentic gastronomic experience on the course of the trip.

Take an opportunity to meet with the native inhabitants of the village of Pao. They survive by fishing giant cat fish, Surubim, Pirarara and other large Siluriformes - up to an astonishing four meters in length! Observation of this ancestral fishing method is a unique and exclusive experience, only acquired upon personal visits to this village.

In the late morning, return to M/S La Jangada and up the fishing lines in hopes for some bounteous finds and tasty surprises! Take some time to relax as we navigate to the city of Codajas (4h). During this time, your cravings will be met with a succulent lunch, sophisticated and served on board. Unwind during the smooth ride, lightening your mind as you gaze at the incessantly eventful, colorful environment. An extraordinary sight of houses floating on stilts, fishermen hawking, women and children washing clothes, labourers loading up boats with the precious products of untamed culture; All elements showcase the originality of the wild life and local way of living here.

In the late afternoon, you will undertake a speedy boat trip to take a look at the surrounding islands and glistening lakes. Keep your eyes peeled for the pink dolphins! Undoubtedly, they will be demonstrating their beauty as they dance with the water at the “rendez vous”.

Before dinner, over a luxurious drink in the bar, you will have the opportunity to converse with the guides about the highlights and the meetings of the day. Presentations will be held to illustrate and clarify the exciting itinerary of the following day. Dinner will be served to you afterwards. 

Following dinner we venture in motor boats one more time, to observe the localized nightlife. Make contact with the charming sloths, canny owls and even catch a glimpse of the diamond-bright eyes of the caimans. Hunting serpents and tarantulas can be found weaving their traps in the forestry, caught by surprise in the moonlight. (1h30). Retiring for the night we anchor safely, in a quiet cove close to Codajas.

Day 10: Codajas City / Badajos Lake
Energise yourself with breakfast served on board before departure by motorboat. This time we find ourselves settling on the shore of one of the nearby lakes. Distinguish the surrounding foliage prior to the return to the city of Codajas. Here we will stop to visit an açai producer at the Fazenda Pretinho. You will revel in the presentation of these magic berries, beautiful fruits of palm trees, rich in vitamin C and antioxidants. Given free time to explore the town of Codajas, discover the market, local crafts and the intense activity of a small Amazonian city. A superb place to purchase some authentic souvenirs and quirky gifts.

Preceding our afternoon journey, lunch is provided on board as we sail to Badajos Lake. In the middle of the afternoon, we depart to observe the wildlife on the lake with native guides.

Late afternoon establishes our return on board for a well deserved relaxation session. You may feel free to utilise the on-board fitness and recreation areas during this time. Subsequently, you will meet us at the lounge bar for an aperitif, warmly encompassed with the colors of the breathtaking sunset. Take part in enticing conversations with guides on your favourite encounters and strengths of the days activities. Presentations will follow including the detailed breakdown of the following day's program. The gastronomic pleasures continue as you dine for dinner on board. In the mean time we steadily sail you across to Coari lake (8 hours).

Day 11: Coari / Lago of Coari / Japura River
Early in the morning, integrate yourself into the market of the city of Coari, located on the Solimões River between Lake Mamiá and Lake Coari. Its history is broad, related to the Indians Catuxy, Jurimauas, Past, Irijus, Jumas, Purus, Solimões, Uaiupis, Uamanis and Uaupés. The city is known for its production of Brazil nuts. Rowing by motorboat we travel from the river Uruçu to the "Fazenda do Padre". On this territory grows huge walnut trees from Brazil, whose fruits are harvested from January to June.

Take your hiking boots out because you are going trekking! March your way through the primary forest, chaperoned by native guides and nut collectors, who will share with you their knowledge of flora, fauna, their traditions (2 hours).

Midday, you will return on board to feast on a nourishing lunch service. Continually in motion, we voyage down the Solimoes River to Manaus. At sunset, wander once more to the lounge bar for an aperitif. Discuss with the guides the highlights of the day. Night at anchor in Anori Lake. After dinner, we continue navigation to Manaus.

Day 12: Januari Lake / Manaus
At dawn you will step on board a canoe trip to explore the lake Janauari. Get your cameras at the ready as you catch the pink dolphins one last time at the “rendez vous”! You can also take time here to admire the Vitoria Regiae, a sight of giant aquatic plants up to 2.50 m in diameter.

Around 9:30 am, you will return on board and sail to back Manaus. Plan your schedule wisely as this is the time to prepare your suitcases for a landing in the late morning! 12 pm is the time of arrival in front of the hotel Tropical, where we secure anchorage.

Take delight in your final restaurant experience on board. Lose yourself in your final moments aboard the luxurious Jangada.

Disembarkation will be completed in Manaus. Marking the end of your unforgettable experience, our staff will assist you with any needs necessary to finalise your departure and conclude your once in a lifetime vacation.

Watervallen van Presidente Figueiredo - midden in de Amazone (07:30 uur tot 17:00 uur)

We beginnen de dag met een ophaalservice bij uw hotel in Manaus.

Na een autorit van ongeveer 1 uur en 15 minuten, arriveren we bij ons eerste bezoekpunt. Hier starten we met een lichte junglewandeling die ons leidt naar de betoverende Santuario waterval. Neem een verfrissende duik in het heldere water en geniet van de indrukwekkende omgeving.

Vervolgens brengen we een bezoek aan de Pedra Furada Waterval. Deze waterval is zo genoemd omdat het water 30 meter naar beneden stort vanaf de top van een grote rots met drie gaten, waardoor er een prachtig en uitnodigend natuurlijk zwembad met rustig water wordt gevormd. Omgeven door een indrukwekkende rotswand in de vorm van een halve maan en de onverstoorbare Amazone jungle erboven, is dit een werkelijk unieke plek om te zwemmen en te ontspannen. De waterval is het mooist tijdens het regenseizoen, tussen februari en mei.

Als de lunchtijd aanbreekt, zullen we genieten van een heerlijke maaltijd, waarna we de Urubui Rivier bezoeken. Hier kunt u ontspannen, zwemmen en genieten van het prachtige natuurlijke landschap.

In de middag bezoeken we de Iracema watervallen. Deze prachtige locatie is de perfecte afsluiting van onze dag vol watervallen en natuur. En ja, u kunt hier ook nog even een verfrissende duik nemen!

Aan het eind van de middag zullen we terugrijden naar Manaus. Hier sluiten we de dag af met een drop-off service bij uw hotel.
